This is our kind request to take an initiative immediately to set up a credible, transparent and an active digital complaint online portal for National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) which will be accessible to make complaints against the atrocities done against Backward Classes.
According to the provisions of the Registration of Marriage of Non-Resident Indian Bill, 2019, every NRI who marries an Indian or another NRI will have to register the marriage within 30 days. In case the person fails to do so, the passport authority may impound his passport.
Once the bill is passed, it will allow us to claim various rights related to marriage, including those for the children. The Standing Committee on the Empowerment of Women (2007) and the Law Commission of India (2009) have recommended that registration of marriage for NRIs be made mandatory. And the bill has been passed in the Rajya Sabha.
